Feministic Face of International Women’s Day. Feminism and Feminists.
International Women’s Day is about celebrating amazing women: we may know them, may we be them, may we raise them. International Women’s Day is especially important in parts of the world where women are still forced to deal with shocking inequality daily. And we want to raise recognition of the challenges and fights faced by these women. International Women’s Day celebrates women’s history, highlighting key events, milestones, and achievements. It aims to promote further and raise awareness of women’s rights and to achieve parity status in all walks of life, from proclaiming women’s suffrage in the 1920s to focusing on manifestations of violence against women of the 21st century. It’s necessary to follow the law with legal, social, economic, civil, and political equality, to prevent all forms of violence and discrimination against girls and women.
Realizing Women’s rights not only on International Women’s Day
According to the United Nations, “The emerging global consensus is that despite some progress, real change has been agonizingly slow for the majority of women and girls in the world. Today, not a single country can claim to have achieved gender equality. Multiple obstacles remain unchanged in law and culture.”
UN starts a new campaign called “Generation Equality,” which marks the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the most progressive road-map for the empowerment of women and girls everywhere.
